General Questions

What services do you offer?

At Divinia Travel, we specialize in unforgettable cruise vacations across all major cruise lines. We design personalized packages for your ideal ship and itinerary, whether you want luxury, family fun, innovative features, culinary excellence, relaxed elegance, expedition adventures, or anything in between.

We handle everything: pre- and post-cruise hotels, ground transfers, top shore excursions, and travel insurance to protect your trip. From solo escapes to family or group getaways, we tailor every detail so you enjoy a seamless, stress-free cruise experience.

Do I need a travel advisor?

In today's world, it's easy to book a cruise yourself online, but the overwhelming options - ships, itineraries, cabins, dining, excursions, and enhancements - can lead to missed opportunities or costly mistakes. That's where our cruise expertise makes the difference.

At Divinia Travel, we match you with the right cruise and handle details like cabin selection, transfers, excursions, and insurance. We also act as your advocate if issues arise, including changes, refunds, or emergencies. Booking through us costs the same as booking direct because cruise lines pay our commission, not you.

How do I get started with planning my trip?

Simply fill out our cruise inquiry form, and one of our travel advisors will reach out to discuss your travel preferences. No pressure and no obligation - just helpful ideas to get you excited about your next voyage.

Do you charge a fee for your services?

Our booking services are completely free to you. The commission is already built into every type of travel service, meaning we get paid by the supplier, not by you. Even if you book the trip yourself, you're still paying that built-in commission - it just goes to the cruise line or platform instead of supporting personalized service for you.

Booking and Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

All payments for travel services are made directly to the travel suppliers. We do not process payments ourselves, but we assist with the booking and ensure the payment process is seamless. Payment terms, including deposit requirements, payment plans, and final payment deadlines, are determined by the travel supplier and will be communicated to you during the booking process.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments are processed directly through our trusted travel partners, who use encrypted and secure systems to protect your personal and financial information. Your payment details are handled with the highest level of security.

Travel Planning

Do I need a passport?

It depends on your destination. For international travel, a valid passport is typically required. For cruises, a passport is usually required for international sailings, though certain closed-loop cruises (departing and returning to the same U.S. port) may allow travelers to use proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate.

Many countries also require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date. If you're unsure, we can provide guidance and help you determine what documents are needed for your specific journey.

Can you help with special requests or accommodations?

Absolutely. We're happy to assist with any special requests, whether it's dietary restrictions, accessibility requirements, room preferences, or any other personalized needs. Let us know what you need and we'll work with the travel suppliers to ensure your specific requirements are met.

Cancellations and Changes

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations for your cruise are subject to the specific policies of the cruise line you book with, which typically include tiered penalties based on how far in advance you cancel. The closer to departure, the higher the fees - often starting with deposit retention and increasing to full fare penalties near sailing.

At Divinia Travel, we guide you through the process, explain the exact terms for your sailing, check for any flexible options or promotions, and help minimize costs where possible. We strongly recommend adding travel insurance for extra protection against unforeseen changes.

Can I make changes to my itinerary after booking?

Yes, many changes are possible after booking - such as adjusting sail dates (if availability allows), adding or modifying pre/post-cruise hotels, transfers, shore excursions, or onboard extras like dining packages. We work closely with you and the cruise line to make adjustments smoothly.

Changes often depend on the cruise line's policies, timing (earlier is always better), and availability. Some changes may incur fees or fare differences. Contact us as soon as you know you'd like to adjust your plans.

Cruise Lines and Pricing

When is my price locked in?

Your price is not guaranteed until your booking is confirmed and a deposit has been received by the cruise line. Rates can change at any time before that point. Once your deposit is paid, your cabin category and fare are secured, though certain fees such as government taxes, port charges, and fuel surcharges may still be subject to change by the supplier. We will always communicate any pricing changes to you as soon as we are made aware of them.

How far in advance should I book?

In general, the earlier you book, the better your selection of cabins and the more likely you are to lock in a favorable rate. For popular sailings, peak seasons, or holiday cruises, we recommend booking 9 to 12 months in advance. For more flexible sailings, 3 to 6 months is often sufficient. That said, last-minute deals do come up and we are happy to help you find them. The best approach depends on your destination, travel dates, and how important cabin location is to you.

Are gratuities included in the cruise price?

It depends on the cruise line. Some lines, particularly luxury and ultra-luxury brands, include gratuities in the fare. Most mainstream and premium lines charge gratuities separately, either as a daily automatic service charge added to your onboard account or as an optional pre-pay at booking. We will always clarify what is and is not included in your specific sailing so there are no surprises.

What happens if a cruise line cancels my sailing or goes out of business?

If a cruise line cancels your sailing, they are typically required to offer a full refund or the option to rebook on a future sailing. We will advocate on your behalf and guide you through the process. In the rare event that a cruise line ceases operations, your recourse depends on how you paid. Credit card payments offer the strongest protection through chargeback rights. Travel insurance with supplier default coverage can also provide a safety net. This is one of the key reasons we always recommend travel insurance.
